William R Albey Obituary

William R Albey Dies in Hospital 

William R. Albey, aged 83, a retired contractor and lifetime resident of Malvern,  (Arkansas) died May 9 (1970) in the Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital.  He was born June 20, 1886 and was married to Bessie Draper.  Mr Albey was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. 

Survivors include his wife; one son, Claude V Albey of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Mrs Hazel L Albey of Arlington, Va. and Miss Lois A Hubbard of Narco, California and one step-daughter, Mrs Vera M Wilcox of Reseda, California, and one brother Austin A Albey of Malvern; three sisters, Mrs Doris Davis and Mrs Annie Hightower both of Malvern and Mrs Elva Richardson of Gilliam, Mo. and six grandchildren. 

Funeral will be Tuesday at two o'clock in the chapel of Atkinson Funeral Home with Rev Earnest Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Loren Albey, David, Autry Lee and Eudell Hightower, Claudie Draper and Wallace Hall.  Honorary pallbearers will be W.S. Behrens, P.E. Mikels, Charlie Brooks and Edwin Helms.

Four Generations ~ Nichols, Albey, Sutton


This is one of my favorite photos- taken in 1958, almost 60 years ago.   The baby is me, and to the right is my sweet mom-  I miss her so much! 
Standing is my granny- my mom's mom, Esther Adaline Nichols Albey, and holding me is Sara Adaline Fitzhugh Nichols, my great grandmother, who passed about one year later.
