Zion Whitfield Smith
Zion Whitfield Smith was born April 10, 1876 in Jemison, Alabama to George Washington and Evaline Amanda Howell Smith. He had nine siblings: Mary, Walter, Leona, Fredonia, Vivian, Birtie, Edna, Sarah and Floyd.
He was a railroad man most of his life, and he lived in Dallas, Texas, McCurtain County, Oklahoma, and eventually moved to Little River County, Arkansas where he remained until his death on September 20, 1953.
He had two wives: Dica Elizabeth Clark, who passed in 1907, and Grace Buster, who passed in 1974.
Zion and Dica had two children: Evelyn and Walter. Zion and Grace had two children: Carlton and Nell.
Zion and Dica were my husband's great grandparents.

Zeke Smith, 77, died Sunday night at his home here. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Phillips Funeral Home, with Rev. Dell Hames officiating. Graveside services were held at the Ashdown cemetery, with Ashdown Masonic Lodge officiating.
Mr. Smith was employed by the Frisco Railroad, having retired about 11 years ago. Member First Baptist Church, here.
Survived by wife, a son Carlton D. Smith, two daughters-Mrs. Lon Buster and Mrs. E.P. Williams, all of Ashdown, three sisters-Mrs. Donnie Schaaf and Mrs. Dollie Clay of Meridian, Mississippi, Mrs. John Watts of Vero Beach, Florida. A brother, Floyd Smith, of Montgomery Alabama, twelve grandchildren and four great-grand children.
