Tombstone Tuesday ~ James William Barrett
James William Barrett was born about 1838 in Davidson County North Carolina to Jonathan H and Abigail Willis Barrett, both also of North Carolina.
On February 17, 1870 he married Martha C Hopper, sister to Ulysis, who married his brother John Franklin Barrett. Ulysis & Martha were born in South Carolina to Charles G & Mary Wilson Hopper.
James and Martha were married in Dyer County Tennessee, and they resided there until at least 1878 when their daughter Clementine was born. Between 1870-1880 they removed to Sevier County Arkansas where they resided until their deaths.
James and Martha were the parents of eight children: Bobby, Mary Jane, Anna, Clementine, Jim, Barbara, Modean and Bessie.
James is buried in Brownstown Cemetery , Sevier County Arkansas.
